Jacobin Pigeon

The Jacobin Pigeon is a kind of fancy pigeon which is developed over many more years of selective breeding. Rock Pigeons or Columba livia are the fore father or ancestor of Jacobins Pigeon along with other varieties of domesticated pigeons. The kind of this pigeon is better known for its feathered hood over its head. The Jacobin Pigeon is a bird with regal look that which like it has been wrapped in a frilly feathered head scarf. Jacobins has a 5 to 6 inch hood of long feathers starts at the shoulders and stands taller than the head which hides the head completely that from the back view. This hood has a certain center and it circles towards the head. From the front view the hood should encase the head tightly. With long wings they are tall. Under thick feathers their legs are well hidden along with the short beak. Including chocolate, white, blue, yellow, and silver Several colors are available.

Grizzle Pigeon

Grizzle is a term of color which implies an inter mixture of color and white. Grizzle Pigeons mean a mix of white and other color on the same feather like the blue bar of each feather are white and colored in a seemingly random mixture. When breeders mention Grizzle it is this coloration which pigeon usually they refer. Grizzle Pigeon has been found to be partially dominant to wild type. Grizzle Pigeon can be combined with any mutation of the checker series and even though normal pigeon also. Grizzle Pigeon is a mutation which can be added to any pattern or color. Magpie Pigeon

The Magpie Pigeon is a kind of fancy pigeon which has been developed over many more years of selective breeding. Rock Pigeon or Columba livia are the ancestor or fore father of Magpie Pigeon along with the other varieties of domesticated and fancy pigeons. About 1990 coming via Germany from Denmark the original Magpie was one of the old tumbler varieties. The Magpies were originally part of the Tumbler breeds although today in the United Kingdom as it is purely kept as an exhibition kind. The Magpie Pigeon is a shallow bodied and slim pigeon that carries itself very vertically. Magpies do breed well and they are reliable feeders for their young. Their beak is very long and colored fresh. The finest Magpies are often appears in solid Blacks but they do found in other colors also including dun, brown, silver, yellow and blue. The Magpie Pigeon was often called as the "Queen of the Pigeons" in England.

Mookee Pigeon

Mookee Pigeon is a medium size pigeon which depends on the sex of the individual pigeon and weights in between 12 to 14 ounces. The Mookee Pigeons body should be carried upright as a result the back slants downward in a angle between 35 to 45 degrees and their tail will never touch the ground. The Mookee Pigeon has a long "S" shaped full neck which zitters or shakes forth and back unlike that of the Fantails and like the Fantails the Mookee Pigeons walk on their toes. Fantail Pigeon

The Fantail Pigeon is a popular kind of fancy pigeon. Fantail is characterized by it's a fan shaped tail which is composed of 30 to 40 feathers, more than most members of the pigeon families normally found which usually has 12 to 14 feathers in the tail. This kind of pigeon is thought to have originated in Spain, India or China. There are s0me sub varieties of Fantails are found such as the Indian Fantail, the Thai Fantail and the English Fantail. In the first chapter of "The Origin Of Species" Charles Darwin has used this as one of the examples as there is a feather mutation which is called as "Silky", which gives an interesting lace effect to a Fantails tail feathers. With this kind of mutation Fantails are known as "Silky" or "Lace Fantails". Fantail has a small crest which starts at the line of the beak and eyes. Their feet always remains hidden beneath their long feathers. Fantail Pigeons long wings rests just under their tail feathers. Several colors are available of Fantails including black, almond, white, lavender, silver, gold and chocolate.

King Pigeon

The King is a kind of pigeon which is developed over many more years of selective breeding primarily as a utility breed. Rock Pigeon or Columba Livia are the fore fathers and fore kinds of Kings along with the other varieties of the domesticated pigeons. The breed kind is known for it's large size and for squab production suitability. The King Pigeon is a kind of large and stout bird. They have short beak and well rounded prominent or strong chest. King Pigeons, these birds appear to be standing at attention with a thick body, long leg and short tail. With a hint of fluff their feathers are soft and smooth. The King is a breed that is originated in the United States for dual purpose. The one is Utility King Pigeon and the other is Show King Pigeon. Utility King Pigeons stands with a normal or ordinary pigeon posture but with an upward pointing tail Show King Pigeons have a more compact posture. Including brown, black, white, chocolate, pearl, red, and several other color with barred patterns several colors and patterns are available of Kings.

Carrier Pigeon

The Carrier Pigeon is also known as English Carrier Pigeons. The Carrier Pigeon is a kind of fancy pigeon developed over many more years of selective breeding. Rock Pigeon or Columba Livia is the fore father or ancestor of Carrier Pigeons along with other varieties of domesticated pigeons. A carrier pigeon is a homing pigeon which is specifically a domesticated rock pigeon or Columba Livia that is used to carry messages. Pigeon which is used to carry messages are generally called "Pigeon Post". The kind is developed in England from the Persian and the Baghdad Carriers and the Powter Pigeons which is a combination of non European kinds. The Old English Carrier was originally used for sending messages who are the largest of the flying pigeon kinds. Above the beak the large cere is one of the main characteristics of this old English kind of pigeon. With a long slender neck it should measure 17.5 to 18.5 inches in total length, is also one of the tallest of the pigeons. Carrier Pigeons are tight feathered bird which helps it appearing smaller than it really is. Carrier Pigeons are found in Dun, Yellow, Red, Black, White and Blue-barred.
